The holiday season gives us a chance to reflect and look ahead. For those of us in the on-demand services industry, it is a time to celebrate and plan how we will capitalize on exciting new market opportunities.

THINKstrategies saw its business grow significantly over the past year. We helped a wide array of clients develop and execute their on-demand strategies. We teamed with leading associations and publications to organize industry events. And, we contributed our perspectives regarding on-demand industry trends to various organizations and publications.

The number of new company registrations and service offerings on THINKstrategies' Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Managed Services Showplaces has more than doubled over the past year! And, the Showplace site traffic has grown 250%!

The number of subscribers to THINKstrategies' newsletters has also jumped to nearly 8000. My blog was named to Technobabble 2.0's Top 50 global rankings.

Over the past year, THINKstrategies' views regarding on-demand services have been included in all the major trade pubs, as well as business pubs such as BusinessWeek.

  • THINKstrategies has completed its third annual SaaS survey in conjunction with Cutter Consortium, and will be reporting its findings in 2008.

    The survey of 95 IT/business unit managers worldwide found that 31.6% of the respondents are using SaaS solutions and 36.8% are considering SaaS. Of those considering SaaS, 80% are very likely to adopt it within the next twelve months.

    Of those already using SaaS solutions, 100% of the survey respondents were satisfied and over 90% planned to expand their use of SaaS!

    I'm pleased to also be teaming with Makana Solutions to conduct a survey focused on the sales compensation issues surrounding subscription-based services in preparation for our January 9th webinar on this topic.
