In response to:

"This raises questions about the future of the Cogheads of the world. But, it also suggests that relatively new entrants in the platform market, like Intuit and Apple, could become strong players."

Intuit has owned and operated QuickBase for over 10 years and Apple, the parent company of FileMaker, has been in this business for as long.

Neither of these companies are new entrants to this market - they are in fact a couple of the oldest in it.

One of the most interesting developments in cloud computing is happening right under the nose of the international media.
Google has partnered with a small China B2B to deliver SaaS in China.
Google also signed an agreement on 1/9/09 with the Chinese government to develop a huge ecommerce program using the China stimulus money. MYST.OB subsidiary is the 3rd party to that agreement.
